 Introdution |
 The RMS Chair of Champagne Management
The Chair of Champagne Management has been created to concentrate on the whole area of business relating to champagne. It therefore encompasses all of the specific factors which surround champagne, with its main theme being a focus on the creation of value.
The chair is headed by Professor Steve Charters, PhD MW.
The Chair is sponsored by the champagne industry. This includes:
> The Comité Interprofessionnel du Vin de Champagne (CIVC) - which represent both the large producers of the region (maisons) and the many thousand smaller growers.
> Five of the most prestigious champagne companies:
- Laurent Perrier,
- Moet-Hennessy (including Krug, Moët et Chandon, Ruinart and Veuve Clicquot)
- Nicolas Feuillatte,
- Pernod Ricard (comprising Mumm and Perrier Jouët)
- Vranken-Pommery.
> The Chair is also sponsored by the City of Reims.
The specific areas of focus for the Chair of Champagne Management is on organisational and financial management, marketing and consumer behaviour – including the development of export markets – logistics and distribution, and the administration of human resources. |
